Meet the Team - Maddi
Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician.
- Published on
Maddi joined the team at Poole Accident Repair in September 2025 as an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician. With a long-standing interest in the automotive industry and a natural artistic flair, she was eager to pursue a hands-on career where she could develop practical skills while learning on the job.
Starting the Journey
After finishing school, Maddi took a gap year to explore her options. During that time, she worked at a golf club, did some travelling, and gave herself the space to decide on her next steps. That time away helped her realise she wanted a career that combined creativity with practical work, making vehicle repair the perfect fit.
Learning the Craft
As part of her apprenticeship, Maddi is gaining experience across all stages of vehicle preparation. Her day-to-day role includes masking, cleaning, sanding, repairing minor damage, and priming vehicles ready for paint.
Looking ahead, she’s excited to expand her skillset further by learning paint application and polishing, key elements of the role. She’ll also develop the technical ability to take paint readings and accurately match colours to each vehicle.
Growing in Confidence
Since joining Poole Accident Repair, Maddi has quickly settled into the team. She is very grateful to her colleagues for creating a supportive and welcoming environment where she’s been able to learn and grow.
Despite having no prior experience in this field, she already feels confident and independent in her role, which is something she’s particularly proud of.
A Supportive Team Environment
For Maddi, one of the standout aspects of working at Poole Accident Repair is the team itself. She highlights how everyone is genuinely invested in helping her succeed and progress throughout her apprenticeship.
Memorable Moments
One of Maddi’s favourite experiences so far has been working on high-end vehicles, including a Porsche 911 GT3. She had the opportunity to work on its carbon fibre roof, which was an exciting and valuable experience, especially so early in her career.
Looking Ahead
Maddi plans to complete her apprenticeship with Poole Accident Repair and continue developing her skills within the industry. In the future, she hopes to specialise further and work on custom projects within a bespoke Bodyshop environment.
Life Outside of Work
When she’s not at work, Maddi enjoys spending time outdoors. From camping trips to attending car shows and going for runs, she likes to stay active and make the most of her free time.
We are incredibly proud to have Maddi as part of the team at Poole Accident Repair, and we look forward to seeing her skills and experience continue to grow throughout her apprenticeship and beyond.
